Mail settings for your own program
AppWT Mail does not replace your phone or desktop mail program. These settings are the same ones you already use, and they do not change when this interface changes.
Incoming mail (IMAP)
| Server | mail.yourdomain.com |
|---|---|
| Port | 993 |
| Encryption | SSL/TLS, required |
| Username | your full email address |
| Password | your mailbox password |
Use IMAP, not POP3. IMAP keeps every folder in step across your phone, your computer and this interface. POP3 downloads mail to one device and the folders never match.
Outgoing mail (SMTP)
| Server | mail.yourdomain.com |
|---|---|
| Port | 465 (SSL/TLS) or 587 (STARTTLS) |
| Authentication | required, same address and password |
Filters
| Protocol | ManageSieve |
|---|---|
| Server | mail.yourdomain.com |
| Port | 4190, STARTTLS |
Filters run on the server, so they file your mail whether or not any program is open. That is why this interface reads and writes the server's own filter script instead of keeping its own list of rules.
Folder names with colour marks
Folder names such as Email 🟡 Ars Robots travel over the wire in a special
encoding. Every mail program handles it; this interface converts it in both directions and is
tested against the live folder names, because a program that gets it wrong creates a second,
duplicate folder rather than opening the one you meant.
